Storing electronic data has evolved from tapes to discs to chips. What if—like nature—we could store data in a molecule? I came across an interesting article from a Vice off shoot called MotherBoard that proposes this idea. A team of scientists at the University of Washington, along with Microsoft, have successfully stored and retrieved digital data in DNA molecules. Now all I can think of is how much more info my iPhone 18S will be able to store in the future.

An artist by the name of eL Seed managed to pull off a beautiful, giant mural spanning across 50 buildings under much secrecy in Cairo, Egypt. The country’s government has strict laws that prohibit artistic freedom. Check out the full story here on Tech Insider.

Erasing the Louvre Pyramid*

*Well, not really. Graffiti artist/Photographer JR was invited by the Louvre to install one of his notable large scale black and white photographs at the site. Through clever anamorphosis, the pyramid seems to disappear when viewed head on. Check out installation images here.

Afraid of heights? This glass bottom bridge in China is not for the faint of heart. The bridge spans across a chasm in the Shiniuzhai National Geopark in Pingjiang county. The views look amazing, but I can only imagine the terrifying feeling.

The Great Migration

Jacob Lawrence is one of the most renowned artists of the 20th century. His most famous series, The Great Migration, depicts in 60 panels the migration of African Americans from the rural southern states to a more free north. Through the series, he gave voice to aspects of the black experience in America, reflecting and depicting the displacement of millions of people. For the first time in twenty years, the series will be shown in its entirety at the MoMA.
